概述
  • VMID是一个与给定虚拟机关联的整数、 在主机和网络结构之间的初始帧交换期间分配。

由于此标识符已整合到FC帧的标头中、因此可以端到端报告与给定I/O路径关联的任何VM

这样、在某些情况下、存储管理员就可以轻松识别给定网络结构上存储的任何VM、而无需执行UUID查找。 

  • 此外、还可以使用引用VMID的各种主机端命令。

  • 如果目标在登录期间指示它支持VMID、则主机将向目标传输这些ID。这可以通过以下两种可能的方式之一实现: 
  1. 应用程序标头机制(涉及使用可选标头)和

  2. 优先级标记机制、利用典型帧头中的现有字段。 

  • 然后、目标将使用其在响应帧中收到的任何主机分配标识符。
