是将 新交换机级联到 现有网络结构时、 不必将其连接到主交换机。
  • 如果网络结构中的一个或多个交换机通过交换机间链路(ISL)或机箱间链路(ICLS)互连、则会自动选择主交换机。主交换机可提供以下功能：

    • 为整个网络结构保留时间。从属交换机将其时间与主交换机同步。对主交换机上的时钟服务器值所做的更改会传播到网络结构中的所有交换机。

    • 管理网络结构中的域ID分配。如果交换机请求的域ID以前已使用过、则主交换机将授予相同的域ID、除非该域ID正由另一个交换机使用。
