Applies to

  • NetApp Element Software 12.3 and earlier
  • NetApp SolidFire Fibre Channel (FC) Node

Description

  • Element will potentially place the Cluster Master (CM) role on an FC node
    • This can be problematic and may need to be moved to a non-FC node in some contexts
  • Additional load is placed on the node when it takes on Cluster Master activity
    • In a heavily loaded system this contention can increase latency
